There were many times I tried to quit smoking, sometimes I would just try to postpone it as much as possible, and sometimes I would do something extreme like quitting cold turkey, and it always ended in one of two ways, either I would break the next day and arrange [to get more], or I would become miserable because my life would become tasteless until I returned to smoking.
What I wanted the most was to regain control and stop allowing weed to manage me; I felt it determined who to hang out with, made me impatient with my family, and distanced me from every goal I wanted to achieve.
I knew that quitting weed cold turkey would not allow me to develop patience toward my family and to improve the relationship with my friends, but the opposite – it would only make me impatient, but I did not know any other way so from time to time I would try it and fail.
My family, my friends, and the goals I wanted to achieve were too precious for me to give up, and I knew that if I failed I would lose them, and along with that also the opportunity to live a fulfilling life.

I am Kobi, and I am a psychotherapist who primarily works with individuals addicted to cannabis. I myself suffered from cannabis addiction for 11 years. The way out of the cycle of addiction was revealed to me while undergoing treatment, which surprisingly was not addiction-focused but helped me develop the ability to cope with the burdens of life without external aids like cannabis.

The first meeting - Introduction
Meeting someone new can be a bit embarrassing. It’s understandable that at this stage, you might have many questions,
concerns, and perhaps some difficulty organizing all the current challenges. During the introductory meeting, you’ll be able to ask questions, express concerns, talk about your goals and, primarily, to check if it suits you.
The Second Meeting - Putting Out Fires
In this meeting, we will discuss the most urgent matters for you, address the most prominent difficulties that accompany you on a daily basis, and examine how to cope with them.
Through this conversation, we will understand the roots of the problem and get an accurate picture of what led to what and what the addiction is based on.
Afterwards, we will continue to discuss topics that suit you, at the pace set by you…
How many meetings are needed?
Indeed, this is a question that cannot be answered. Different people have different ways to go through and different things to cope with.
But - one can get a general idea.
Statistically, in the first three months of treatment, there is a significant improvement in mood and an increase in the ability to cope with life.
In addition, there is a significant reduction in cannabis consumption and even the disappearance of the smoking pattern within seven months from its onset.
Does the treatment end there?
There is no set date for the end of the treatment;
it depends solely on your decision. The choice whether to end the treatment once the issue you approached with has resolved or to continue the sessions to work on additional areas is yours.
